Formula Type Formulas that Harmonize
Diagnosis Foul turbidity obstructing membrane source and constraining Yang, clear heat, regulate Qi, transform dampness
Action Opens the membrane source by thrusting out pathogens, clears away filth, transforms turbidity
Indication Alternating fever and chills (both strong) occurring 1-3 times per day at irregular intervals, stifling sensation in chest, nausea or vomiting, headache, irritability, scanty, turbid, yellow urine. T: deep-red edges, thick, foul, pasty coat; P: wiry and rapid, neither floating or submerged
Remarks This is a half-interior, half-exterior condition; unsuitable for treating damp-warmth disorders where heat signs are stronger than damp signs or for lurking heat and constrained dampness
