| Pharmacological Effects | • Diuretic: intravenous or intramuscular injections in dogs increases excretion of water, sodium, chloride, and potassium • Antineoplastic: inhibited growth of cancer cells in mice with liver cancer • Antibiotic: alcohol extract has inhibitory influence on S. aureus and E. coli • Immunologic: associated with increased production of and greater activity in T -cells • Hepatoprotective: intraperitoneal injection has protective effect against carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatitis in rats  |
