Pharmacological Effects | • Antihyperlipidemic: in rabbits with artificially-induced atherosclerosis, daily administration of herb for 2 to 3 weeks significantly reduced total cholesterol and β-lipoprotein, compared to placebo group; decrease in fat content in heart and liver also observed • Antibiotic: decoction has inhibitory effect against various influenza viruses; 25% solution has limiting influence on S. aureus, E. coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa |
