| Pharmacological Effects | • Antibiotic: inhibitory influence against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and various pathogenic fungi • Respiratory: intraperitoneal injection showed expectorant and bronchodilating effects • Cardiovascular: according to one report, 500 mg/kg of bilobol lowered blood pressure in rabbits, rats, and guinea pigs; increases vascular permeability, and may cause edema • Uterine stimulant: administration of bilobol associated with contraction of uterus in rabbits  |
