Pharmacological Effects • Hemostatic: topical application of powder showed marked hemostatic action in rabbits
• Diuretic: decoction demonstrated diuretic effect in rabbits, with maximum effectiveness evident 5 to 10 days after initiation of treatment
• Antibiotic: strong inhibitory influence in vitro against Shigella flexneri and Shigella sonnei
Herb-Drug Interactions • Diuretics: concurrent use with diuretic drugs may lead to increased elimination of water and/or electrolytes
