Chemical Composition 3-acetoin, 2,3-butanediol, copaene, cis-caryophyllene, alloaromadendrene, humulene, 6-cadinene, α-curcumene, calamenene, ledol, quaiazulene, xanthorrhizol, palmatic acid
Pharmacological Effects • Antidiabetic: administration to mice via subcutaneous injection lowered blood glucose levels
Herb-Drug Interactions • Antidiabetics: herbs that lower plasma glucose levels should be used with caution with insulin, sulfonylureas, and other antidiabetic medications, as combination may have a synergistic effect, leading to hypoglycemia
