| Pharmacological Effects | • Reproductive: in male mice, increased weight of testicles; in female mice, prolonged estrus periods, increased weight of reproductive organs, and induced estrus in oophorectomized mice • Respiratory: alcohol extract relaxes bronchi and has marked antiasthmatic action; water extract has no significant effect • Immunostimulant: alcohol extract of body and tail of Ge Jie in mice increases white blood cell count and phagocytic activities by macrophages, and increases weight of spleen • Adrenocortical: administration associated with increased production of adrenocortical hormone |
